User created subfolders in Outlook not showing in Webmail.
Eliminating our exchange server. Installed updated version of Outlook, 2016. Connected directly to InMotion webmail using IMAP. Inbox downloaded to Outlook and it is working as expected. Imported user created subfolders, not under inbox, into Outlook from exchange exported pst file. Folders show in Outlook but do not sync to Webmail.
Have turned off "... show only subscribed folders" at account level and it is off on the subfolders. Have updated folder list many times. Subfolders still not syncing to Webmail. Imported subfolders have "(This computer only)" appended to the folder name.
Not sure what I'm missing.
Hello Jim,
I found a similar question in the official Microsoft forums where they stated:
"Typically this means that you added the folder to the root of the data file instead of the <root> of the IMAP folder tree on the server - generally under the <Inbox>.
Alternative is to simply add the folder by logging into your account via Webmail and add the folder there at which point it will sync down to Outlook desktop. Then import emails into the folder."
I recommend trying this to see if it resolves this syncing issue.
Thank you,
John-Paul
