How do I assign cpanel account to new ip address?

I am on a vps and just received my 2nd dedicated ip address. According to the email, "At this time it is not associated with any of your cPanel accounts however you can assign it whenever you create the account you would like it to be placed on."

I created a new cpanel account with the intention of assigning it to this new ip address. But during the process of creating the account, I didn't see any option to do so. Hence, the new account is on the same shared ip address as the original account. How do I assign it to the new ip address? I couldn't figure out how to do so in WHM.

Hello Lotusp,

This is typically done by our Systems people, but you can also assign it using the WHM access to your VPS (again, only with root access). If you do not have root access, you can request it, or if you do not want to have it, but want to assign the IP address, then you will need submit a request to Technical Support and they can quickly take care of it for you.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support available 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.
