Feature Request: auto-delete bouncebacks from BoxTrapper

I'm using the Bpxtrapper function and really like it - it, in conjunction with SpamAssassin, has made a big difference.

However, one drawback is the influx of bounceback messages I'm receiving as a result of the verification email that Boxtrapper sends out to spammers.

I currently have a rule set up to autodelete them but the problem with this is there's no way to distinguish from bouncebacks that result from Boxtrapper and bouncebacks that result from my own sending error.

It would make sense for the Boxtrapper function to include a feature that selectively auto-deletes bouncebacks that IT generates.

Hello ChrisJScott,

The Boxtrapper application is not something we have written, so making it behave a certain way natively is not something we can correct, unfortunately.

HOWEVER, you should be able to make a filter that searches the BODY of the email bounces looking for Boxtrapper messaging. That way, you can automatically remove the errors with the incoming mail traffic. I checked on this with our systems team and that is the best way to handle it.

If you have any further questions, please contact technical support or leave a comment at the bottom of the page.
