not able to receive email

Why am I not able to receive email and only able to send email?
1. I did a test to send email to my New email account using InMotion Hosting. Email has bounced back with error message. I verified, I am using correct email.
2. I am logged on and using Roundcube to view and see successful outgoing email only.
3. My email account is not over quota. This is a new account and new email.
4. I did not enable SpamAssassin.
5. I did not request MX records
Hello, Apologies for the problems with receiving email. First, we would need some specific information based on your account to determine what's happening. We need domain information and the settings that you are using for your email client. If I base this issue on the domain that you provided with this question (but did not state in the text above), your mail server settings and your domain are not pointed to our hosting service. You can send emails out without having the mail records set correctly, but you will not be able to receive any until your mail records are correctly set. It appears you want to use our servers for email. If so, you will need to change your DNS before email can fully function from our servers.
