Unable to connect JetPack on dev.backbonecap.com

JetPack connection fails with error: Jetpack: [invalid_grant] Error Details: Invalid authorization_code. Or, sometimes: Jetpack: [verify_secrets_expired] Verification took too long.

JetPack support initial response: This may point to a problem on your host's end of things, possibly something blocking you from connecting to the WordPress.com servers. Can you make contact with your host's customer support and see if they can tell you anything about why you wouldn't be able to connect your site to Jetpack? Also, please ask them to do the following:

1. Whitelist connections to and from *.wordpress.com.

2. Whitelist the following IP ranges:
185.64.140.0/22
2a04:fa80::/29

3. Whitelist all of the IPs listed at http://whois.arin.net/rest/org/AUTOM-93/nets.

InMotion support has done all of the above.

I tried to connect Jetpack using my own wordpress.com/jetpack account. It also failed. I tried this on both the dev site and the live site backbonecap.com. That seems to indicate that something at inmotion is the cause of the problem.

As further proof, I connected a site I have at Bluehost using the Backbone wordpress.com/jetpack account. I worked perfectly. So this is an InMotion Hosting issue.

InMotion support says there are other WordPress sites on the same server as dev.backbone.com that use JetPack with no problem. Appreciate any thoughts.

Hello jill, Thank you for your question regarding Jetpack connection issues. As a test, try disabling mod_security rules, there is a tool in cPanel. If your problems persist, I recommend following our WordPress troubleshooting guide to narrow down the cause. Thank you, John-Paul
