tried to troubleshoot problem with theme -followed directions -screwed everything up -had to delete all pages and reinstall theme -2nd time creating page by page -uploading images -NO PROBLEM -had to combine old page text with new front page -needed to upload new image -keep getting HTTP error -one solution offered was to deactivate any plug in that might be causing problem -I had kept record of initial installed plug in -where I had NO PROBLEM uploading images -I deactivated all other plug ins that -were most recently installed that might be causing problem Still get HTTP error some of the support emails have addressed Mod_Security and how to disable it -the instructions are beyond my capabilities - and that's how I screwed up my first attempt in creating a website -even tho I have a 3rd party website -your last technical support rep said you can turn on WP debugging and determine what is causing HTTP error at this point in creating my website I don't feel comfortable risking losing everything again - by attempting to add new coding -if you can't help me -I'm dead in the water -all I need to do to complete my website is add the image to my revised front page -then I'm done -after 3 weeks of making mistakes.

Hello [email protected], Thank you for contacting us about HTTP errors when uploading images in WordPress. As a test you can easily disable mod security from cPanel, there is a helpful tool there to simplify the process (you just have to uncheck a box, then click "update" to disable). Turning on WordPress debugging is very straight forward, and our guide now includes a helpful walk-through video as well. With debugging turned on, it is much easier to locate any errors within your WordPress site as well as any plugins and themes that may be causing errors. This will not cause you to lose anything, but only display errors that are occurring. We are happy to help you troubleshoot your site further, but will need some additional information. What are the full errors you are getting? Does this happen with every image? Have you tried a different image? What size is the image? Let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you, John-Paul
