Atrocious downtime on my email hosting

I have been experiencing horrible downtime on my email hosting over the past month. Almost daily, I will lose my connection for 5 to ten minutes at a time. Often, this occurs multiple times a day. What is going on to cause this, and what is being done to remedy it?

I have also received a number of notices that the East Coast Data Center is being upgraded, and that I may experience downtime over a given weekend, but apparently whatever upgrades were performed have either kept the system down into the week, or have simply made things worse. I hope a solution will be offered promptly. I have emailed support on two separate occasions requesting a bill adjustment for this downtime and have been consistently ignored. Hopefully this public post will encourage some action.

Hello, Sorry to hear you are having issues with your email uptime. Whenever you are having issues with email, you will want to contact the Live Support team while it is happening. You will also need to provide as much data as possible for us to review so we can see if there is indeed something wrong on the server or with our connection. As the internet is comprised of many different networks with many routing pathways we want to also review to see if there may be something wrong along those lines. To help us help you, please run a ping and trace test to your email server whenever you experience the downtime. (You can also learn how to read one to see if you even need to contact Support.) This helps by taking a snapshot of the issue that can be reviewed even if the issue is not occurring when you contact Live Support. You will want to provide this information to our support team for review as well as any other details you can provide, such as exactly which email accounts are involved, whether you are using an email client, whether the issue also occurs on webmail, and any error messages (if any) that you get.
