htaccess automatically update the mime_module AddHandler

Dear Sir/Madam,

After I upgrade the CentOS, I manually update the AddHandler by adding .html and .htm to AddHandler like

# php -- BEGIN cPanel-generated handler, do not edit
# Set the “ea-php56” package as the default “PHP” programming language.

AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php56 .php .php5 .phtml .html .htm

# php -- END cPanel-generated handler, do not edit

After several days, the .html .htm are removed, is there any automatically update from cPanel? How can I keep my custom setting?

Best regards,

Hello Kelvin,

Sorry for the issues with your .htaccess file getting changed.  It sounds like you have an application (e.g. WordPress) that has access to the .htaccess file in order to make changes.  You would need to lock down the file in order to keep it from being altered.  You can use this article to provide better security for the .htaccess file.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Kindest regards,
