URL Redirect with path that starts with #

  • Answered
I would like to know if there is away to redirect a URL with a path that starts with '#' (Ex. www.website.com/#_1_c)? Any help would be much appreciated!
Hello, Thanks for the question about using a "#" in a redirect. I researched this issue and also asked around about it. There are a few places that use the "#" in their URLs, but typically, it is used to re-direct to a part of the page. The general answer is YES, you can use it, but you need to be careful that you are not creating any re-direct loops with it. I also reviewed the notes from an earlier chat, and can add the # by directly creating the re-direct when editing the .htaccess file (Setting up a 301 redirect in .htaccess). I hope this helped to answer your question! Please let us know if you have any further questions or comments. Regards, Arnel C.
