Increasing number of "Error 500" when accessing WordPress site

The past few days, our site (glqo.net) has been suffering from "Error 500" .. as of a few minutes ago, all pages (including wp-admin pages) are now throwing the error. I've been trying to go through all the recommended steps (plugins, themes, etc.) before everything shut down - nothing worked.

This could well be the result of a brute force attack, but am unsure how to proceed, now that I have NO access (other than CPanel).

I'm not seeing suspicious modified files in my WordPress installation (other than those I've been modifying to get some reasonable diagnostics).

Access logs show my attempts to access various pages (including favicon.ico), but that's it.

Suggestions on how to proceed? Create a new WordPress installation and gradually move over content, themes and plugins? Are there some error logs I'm not seeing?

Thanks in advance.

I took a look at your site and it appears that you have a line in your .htaccess file which was not valid for the PHP configuration on your account. I have commented this line out and you should see your site operating normally now.
