Images not sizing correctly - Prestashop

  • Answered
When I upload an image to a category in Prestashop, it does not fill the entire category banner size (which looks terrible!) . Rather, the image remains as a small square within the rectangular parameters of the category heading. I can write words within that space that fill the entire space, but the image remains as the size of a little box. Please tell me how to get the image to fill the whole space!
Hello, and thank you for your question. When you upload a category image, the size of the image is going to be based on the PrestaShop image setting for category_default. You can login to the PrestaShop dashboard, hover over Preferences, then click on Images to modify this setting. On the far right click on Edit beside category_default (in PrestaShop 1.5 this will be a pencil icon). Set the Width and the Height so that they match the image dimensions you're trying to use for your categories, then click Save. Finally you'll need to scroll to the bottom of the Images section and select Categories from the Select an image drop-down, and then click on Regenerate Thumbnails. That should hopefully fix the issue that you're having. You might also want to think about making your category images that you uploading as close to the dimensions of the category_default setting as possible to make sure they all look similar as well.
