I'm a web design agency which also offers hosting as part of the service. Usually I host my clients pages on my VPS. I now have a new client which will need 3 wordpress sites including email-accounts with their own domain. I was wondering whether or not it's smarter to top up my existing VPS or bu an additional one for this client and have all his stuff on this new one.

Hello Fatih,

Thanks for the question about upgrading your VPS.  It's a great question and common one. Unfortunately, the answer is "it depends."  Generally, a VPS can handle multiple cPanel accounts, but please be aware that cPanel recently started charging for using their software.  To get answers to the change in cPanel pricing, check our cPanel Pricing Changes FAQ.

The main concern is the performance of your existing server.  Will it be impacted by adding 3 other websites? This will depend on the traffic from your existing clients.  Also, does your customer have the expectation that these new sites will encounter a LOT of traffic?  if they are not static information sites and have dynamic elements that require a lot of server resources, then, yes, you may need to upgrade.  If you are unsure of your server usage, then please contact our  live technical support team for further assistance.

If you expect very little traffic and the websites are mainly static with little or no changes, then please consider keeping the sites on your existing VPS.

I hope this helps to answer your questions. If you need further assistance, please let us know!

Kindest regards,
Arnel C.
