How can I login to my WordPress site on my primary domain (installed in a sub folder)
Ok. Here goes.
I want to create a website in WordPress for my primary domain.
I have done a clean install of WordPress in a subfolder of my public_html folder (i.e. /public_html/mydomain.com)
I have not yet had my registrar update the DNS to point my domain to my InMotion account.
I have updated my hosts file on my Mac to circumvent that :)
When I point my browser to www.mydomain.com, a totally "un-markup-ed" basic WP homepage shows up.
When I try to login, I got an error (404 or 400, can't remember)
I added the "WordPress rewrite rules" to my .htaccess file (found in another post on this forum)
Now when I try to login, I get redirected to the same, "un-markup_ed" basic WP homepage (so, I'm stuck in a circle now)
I have successfully installed WordPress for my 3 addon domains.
They all have a clean WordPress install in their respective subfolders of my /public_html/ folder.
They are all "redirected" using my hosts file (I will move all my domains at once ;)).
They all work.
Any clues here? :S
