I uploaded my index.html file (by ftp upload) can I preview the site (my own design in Xara)

Sorry for the long winded question. I have tried every possible instruction to up load by FTP through my design program (Xara Web designer Pro) Each time I try a different entry I keep getting the same error. "THE SERVER NAME OR ADDRESS COULD NOT BE RESOLVED" I susspition this might be accuring due to this site still not transfered from my soon to be ex hosting partner (GoDaddy)?? I some how managed to upload my index files by direct upload in a file manager screen of my subdomain (thejourneytoamerica.josephborza.net)

Is it possible to preview this action to see how my site appears by this upload?
I am totally worn-out with trying to establish my new account here at InMotion.

Hey JB, thanks for the question. Currently because your domain name is still pointed at GoDaddy's server, you aren't going to be able to use your domain name directly to access our server yet. You'll want to use the direct hostname of our server, or its IP address in your FTP settings to ensure you're uploading files directly to our server: Hostname: ecbiz83.inmotionhosting.com IP address: 173.205.124.151 Then once you have your files placed inside your [/public_html] directory on our server, you can preview them via the temporary URL for your account: http://ecbiz83.inmotionhosting.com/~joseph71/ You can see the index files you uploaded to your sub-domain using this temporary URL: http://ecbiz83.inmotionhosting.com/~joseph71/thejourneytoamerica.com If you're noticing some display anomalies over the temporary URL due to your path structure that you've coded, you might wish to update your computer's local (hosts) file to point directly to our server as well: Modifying your hosts file Your entries would end up looking like: 173.205.124.151 josephborza.net 173.205.124.151 www.josephborza.net That should get you to the point where you can publish your site and then view it directly from our server. Once you've gotten everything moved over and confirmed it all looks good, you'd then want to login to your domain registrar where you registered the domain name and point to our name servers: NS.INMOTIONHOSTING.COM NS2.INMOTIONHOSTING.COM After that it takes roughly 24 hours for the DNS settings to fully propagate. After that time-frame you would then be able to simply access our server directly using your domain name in Xara, or in your web-browser. Hope that answers your questions fully.
