How can I add a custom logo to WordPress using the 2011 theme?

This is in continuation of my questions from March. 22: I made the suggestions in style.css that Tim recommended. When I did that the ocean banner stayed, however when I tried to upload the logo it just was a blacked out banner where it used to be the ocean scene. Maybe I am mixed up with the pixel height and width. I needed to reduce the size because the way Netmen (the graphic art company) sent it to me it was too big for a top left hand logo. I have still been unable to reduce the size. Maybe I need photoshop but I am unsure which version I need. Also. nothing was in the large space between the top of the page and the banner once I put in the new code. Now for some reason I am able to upload the logo but it goes into the banner spot. I tried to delete the code to try and restore it to the default setting thinking that would reduce the large space between the top of the page and the banner.

Is there a way to upload my logo into the left upper corner while keeping the ocean scene banner?

btw- this is my first time doing any kind of web site building.

Thank you!

Hello andreaz,

I'm sorry you're having trouble customizing the WordPress Twenty Eleven theme. As a courtesy, I took a copy of your logo and resized it using GIMP (a free graphics editing program). Then I added it to the site-title background in style.css (per Tim's previous instructions). All you will need to do now is switch the header back to the Ocean image in the Twenty Eleven theme. This can be done in your WordPress dashboard under Appearance > Header > Default Images.

Before I made any changes to your theme, I created a backup of your Twenty Eleven Theme so that you can revert back to the default if you like.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.
