Setting up SFTP against domain

  • Answered
I wish to connect to my server using SFTP (FTP is working fine by the way). I have followed your guide and create a keypair and converted it in Putty. Then I have set up FileZilla, but when I try to connect it gives me the following:

Status: Connecting to
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=5
Command: keyfile "C:\Users\User\Desktop\temp\id_rsa_putty_type_private_key.ppk"
Command: open "[email protected]" 2222
Command: Trust new Hostkey: Once
Error: Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey)
Error: Could not connect to server

I would be grateful for your feedback.
Hello Mark,

Sorry for the problem with the SFTP login. I reviewed your account and looked at the SSH key. The key that you copied over is NOT AUTHORIZED. That's the reason you are unable to login to SFTP with FileZilla. Go back into cPanel and click on Manage Authorization in order to authorize the id_rsa key that you have created. Copy that key down and use it with Filezilla to proceed.

I hope this helps to answer your question, please let us know if you require any further assistance.
