Help making a landing page

We have a Prestashop eCommerce website and a Blog website. We are trying to connect them with a landing page that will give users the option to navigate to our eStore or to our blog. We used this article to make it happen (in test).

https://www.inmotionhosting.com/support/website/htaccess/htaccess-change-index-page

But on our live site, it does not work. Keeps looping back to the landing page ...

eStore: www.mydomain.com
Blog: blog.mydomain.com

So when a user types www.mydomain.com, they land on the landing page. When they click on blog they navigate to blog.mydomain.com which is what we want, but when they click on "SHOP" they end up looping back to the landing page.

I cannot sort out whether this is a server issue or a Prestashop issue.

Our prestashop is in a subdirectory on the server, but only displays www.mydomain.com If I recall, this was something that inMotion setup, to avoid www.mydomain/shop

But now I want the www.mydomain.com/shop so I can link to this unique page address from the landing page.

I don't want to change the domain in Prestashop as it could be a nightmare, I'm not sure.

If anyone understands what i just said, and what i need to sort out, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hello Patrico,

Thank you for contacting us about your Prestashop redirect issues. One thing you can certainly try as a test is to rename or otherwise nullify the .htaccess file the redirect rule is set in to see if that affects the behavior. Do you already have a Prestashop installation in yourdomain.com/shop?

You can also inspect the link for "shop" page to see where it is pointing. It may be coded to go back to the landing page.

Best,
Christopher M.
