Image upload and viewing trouble with Gallery install

I have installed Gallery on several other domains with success. I am now on 2nd install for another domain and it is not working. I receive error message when trying to add photos which are way below the default 8 MB size. Add photo window indicates it is 100% uploaded, a placeholder and image number appears in album but no photo. I was able to load 1 photo. When I click thumbnail to View larger image, the window opens but the image appears as a broken link. Any suggestions?

This can provide specific clues, and evidence into what is happening. Also, I recommend checking your error logs in cPanel.
