I can send mail from an account but cannot receive

I am unable to receive mail at an account I own but can send without problems. I have had the account for several years and one day it seemed to just stop receiving.
Usually I check the account through gmail but on the weekend it stopped working I checked the webmail section of the mail host directly via my samsung cellphone.

If I send a mail to myself the outgoing mail appears in the "sent" box but nothing arrives. I contacted the domain host directly and they told me it was working correctly - which clearly it is not. I don't think it is a gmail problem because the situation is the same if I try to access the mailbox via the domain link.
