UltraStack ONE for WordPress plans<\/a> include a set number of playground environments. The number depends on your specific plan, but you can always add more if necessary. In this guide, we\u2019ll explain Playground Sites <\/strong>and how to use them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Are Playground Sites?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Playgrounds are temporary WordPress websites that are hosted in a shared environment. When they are created, they come with WordPress pre-installed on a randomly generated URL. Although you cannot use SSH access with Playgrounds, you can use the File & Database Manager<\/a> available in InMotion Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Each Project<\/a> can have multiple Playground environments that can be used to build separate WordPress sites. For example, you could have a Project called \u201cJohn\u2019s eCommerce site\u201d and within that project, there could be three separate Playground site environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Playgrounds don\u2019t offer as much performance or customization as the\u00a0UltraStack VPS<\/a>, but they can be quite useful as part of your workflow. They<\/span> can be used to try new plugins or themes, test new updates to WordPress, collaborate on new designs, or host a copy of your production environment. Playgrounds are meant for temporary, non-production use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Creating a New Playground Environment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Log in to InMotion Central<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Roll your mouse over the project you want to manage and click <\/strong>on its card.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Scroll to the Playground Sites<\/strong> section and click Add Playground<\/strong>.

  4. After a moment, your new Playground will be visible in the list.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Click the pencil icon<\/strong> to Edit the Playground Name<\/strong> if desired.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Click on the Playground Name<\/strong> to manage your new Playground.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    How to Manage Your Playground Site<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Log in to InMotion Central<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Click on the Project you\u2019d like to manage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Click on the Playground Name<\/strong> from the list of Playground Sites.

    4. You can manage your plugins and theme from the Playground dashboard, log into the WordPress Dashboard, and more.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      How to Delete a Playground Site<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

      1. Select the Project you\u2019d like to manage and scroll to the Playground Sites<\/strong> card.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Click the trash can icon<\/strong> to proceed with the Delete action.
        \"Use<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. You will see a confirmation message asking if you want to permanently delete the environment. Enter the name of the environment, and the Delete<\/strong> button will light up.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Click the Delete<\/strong> button. You are finished when you see a \u201cDelete Successful<\/em>\u201d message.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Purchase Additional Playground Sites<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        When a team or project runs out of playground environments, you can purchase them in packs of 5, 10, and 15 inside InMotion Central.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. If you run out of playgrounds, you\u2019ll be prompted to purchase additional ones when you click Add Playground<\/strong> in your project.
          \"Purchase<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. You can then select how many playground environment instances you want to purchase. Options are 5, 10, and 20 instances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Click the Continue<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. You will then be taken to a checkout page. If you already have a credit card in your account, you can select it or enter a new billing address and credit card details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        5. Select your renewal period, options are Yearly<\/strong> or Monthly<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        6. Agree<\/strong> to the terms of service, and click Submit Order<\/strong>. You are finished when you see a \u201cPurchase Complete<\/em>\u201d message. You can scroll down to view the invoice or click the My Purchases<\/strong> link to view all of your receipts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
