Do you ever need a way to show a series of chess moves in your blog? EmbedChessboard allows you to embed chess games on websites with the Portable Game Notation (PGN) format, easy to comprehend for novice and grandmaster level players alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using EmbedChessboard\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Follow the \u201cDownload\u201d link at <\/a>https:\/\/extensions.joomla.org\/extension\/embedchessboard\/. As of September 2021 you\u2019ll be redirected to the SourceForge page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select \u201cembedchessboard-joomla-plugin-X.XX.XX.zip\u201d to download the Joomla plugin. Below are checksums for embedchessboard-joomla-plugin-3.05.00.zip. We recommend comparing the checksum of your downloaded file to the results below to ensure your file is not corrupted or malicious. You can use the terminal<\/a> or VirusTotal.com.

  3. Log into your Joomla administrator dashboard (e.g. https:\/\/example.com\/administrator).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. On the left, select \u201cSystem.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Under \u201cInstall,\u201d select \u201cExtensions.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Select \u201cOr browse for file\u201d and the plugin zip file. You\u2019ll see the following notification:

  8. Select \u201cPlugins.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Select \u201cContent \u2013 EmbedChessboard.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. On the right, select the Status drop-down menu and \u201cEnabled.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Set the default chessboard frame layout to show move notation beside or under the chess board. This can be changed manually when coding an EmbedChessboard setup.

  12. Set the default EmbedChessboard frame height. This can also be overwritten.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  13. Customize the color of the EmbedChessboard background, board squares, navigation buttons, and text in hex format. Click the text field to use the color graph.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  14. Set the default settings for automatically playing chess games. This too can be overwritten per chess board.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  15. Select the \u201cDescription\u201d tab for sample code. You can copy this code to get started as we did below.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  16. Select the \u201cAdvanced\u201d tab to add custom CSS.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  17. Save changes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  18. Create a Joomla article<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  19. Develop the PGN code for your chess game. The code block includes all custom parameters available and the developer\u2019s example chess game.
