The Terms and Conditions plugin grants the ability to add a custom Joomla 4 registration terms and conditions statement on your user registration page<\/a>. This is a step up from the User Profile plugin which only displays a \u201cTerms of Service\u201d (ToS) link with radio buttons for \u201cAgree\u201d or \u201cNo.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This plugin is useful for when you need to emphasize important terms in the common case that users do not read the full statement.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Custom Joomla 4 Registration Terms and Conditions Statement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. Log into your Joomla 4 administrator dashboard (e.g. https:\/\/example.com\/administrator).<\/li>
  2. Select System<\/strong> from the sidebar.<\/li>
  3. Under Manage<\/em>, select Plugins<\/strong>.<\/li>
  4. Search for and select \u201cUser \u2013 Terms and Conditions\u201d.<\/li>
  5. In the upper-right corner of the pop-up window, select the Status<\/em> drop-down menu and select Enabled<\/strong>.

  6. You can type a custom message in the \u201cShort Terms & Conditions\u201d text box to emphasize notable terms. Or leave it blank to use the default message: \u201cBy signing up to this website you accept the Terms & Conditions.\u201d<\/li>
  7. Select the article link for the full terms and conditions or create a new article to include them.<\/li>
  8. At the top, select Save & Close<\/strong>.<\/li>
  9. Visit your Joomla registration page in a private browsing session to test your results. You should now see your custom statement in a highlighted box.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If you have the \u201cTerms of Service\u201d block enabled in the User Profile plugin, you should disable it. Otherwise, the user registration form will show ToS agreements from both plugins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
