It also allows you the ability to view the log files and select the users that you can secure with AutoSSL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AutoSSL feature has the following limitations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Certificates that cPanel, Inc. provides through AutoSSL can secure a maximum of 1,000 domains per certificate (Apache virtual host).<\/li><li>AutoSSL will only include domains and subdomains that pass a Domain Control Validation (DCV) test, which proves ownership of the domain.<\/li><li>AutoSSL does not secure wildcard domains.<\/li><li>If the corresponding <em>www.<\/em> domain does not pass a DCV test, AutoSSL will not attempt to secure that <em>www.<\/em> domain.<\/li><li>By default, AutoSSL will not attempt to replace pre-existing certificates that it did not issue.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The AutoSSL feature includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>AutoSSL includes corresponding www. domains for each domain and subdomain in the certificate, and those www. domains count towards any domain or rate limits. For example, if your domain is example.com, AutoSSL will automatically include www.example.com in the certificate.<\/li><li>Each AutoSSL provider may wait for a specific amount of time to replace an AutoSSL-provided certificate before it expires. For example, AutoSSL will attempt to renew certificates that cPanel, Inc. provides when they expire within 15 days.<\/li><li>Due to rate limits, AutoSSL prioritizes new certificates over the renewal of existing certificates.<\/li><li>AutoSSL will replace certificates with overly weak security settings (for example, RSA modulus of 512-bit or less).<\/li><li>AutoSSL uses a sort algorithm to determine the priority of domains to secure if a virtual host contains more than the provider\u2019s limit of domain names.<\/li><li>AutoSSL is an SSL that is auto-enabled forever \u2013 as long as you have a valid domain then the AutoSSL will renew automatically.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The users used by AutoSSL are the cPanel users created within your VPS or Dedicated server account. AutoSSL will check ALL domains within the user account unless you make an exception for them within the Manage Users option of AutoSSL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"add-autossl-to-accounts\">How to Add Free AutoSSL Certificates to Accounts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s a quick overview of the process for adding Free AutoSSL certificates to your reseller accounts:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Create a <strong>Feature list<\/strong> that includes the AutoSSL feature.<\/li><li>Create a <strong>Package<\/strong> in WHM. The package includes all of the options that added to an account cPanel interface. This will include the updated feature list.<\/li><li>Modify the reseller accounts so that they include the updated package.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_whm-main-screen.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_whm-main-screen.png\" alt=\"Main WHM screen\"><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert alert-info\">All of the steps below will require that you are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/edu\/whm\/log-into-whm\/\">logged in to WHM<\/a> as the owner of the reseller account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-feature-list\">Creating a Feature List<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"article_list wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"color: rgb(30, 30, 30);\">In the main WHM screen, click on the search window in the top left and type \u201cFeature.\u201d This will bring up the <strong>Feature Manager<\/strong> option.<\/span><br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-feature-manager.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-feature-manager.png\" alt=\"Go to Feature manager\"><\/a><span style=\"color: rgb(30, 30, 30);\"> <\/span><div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>If you\u2019re just starting there will be no feature lists to edit, so you will need to create one. If you have a feature list created and want to edit, go the drop-down menu to the right and select the list you wish to edit. <em>Click in the New feature list name<\/em> box and then click on the <strong>Add Feature List<\/strong> button.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_whm-main-screen.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_whm-main-screen.png\" alt=\"Create feature list\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>The feature list identifies everything that will be shown to the user in cPanel. If you are interested in selecting what belongs to each user, then go through the list and add every feature that you wish for the user to have. Otherwise, you can select the option at the top of the page in order to select all of the features. The main thing that we\u2019re trying to do here is select <strong>AutoSSL<\/strong> in the list.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-features.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-features.png\" alt=\"Select features\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>Scroll to the bottom of the page and click <strong>SAVE<\/strong> in order to save your Feature list.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_save-feature-selections.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_save-feature-selections.png\" alt=\"Save selections\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"create-account-package\">Creating an Account Package<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert alert-info\">Note that cPanel creation is no longer unlimited. Click on the search window at the top left-hand side of the page then type, \u201cPackage.\u201d This will bring you to the Packages section of WHM. Note that if you have NOT created a package, then you will need to create a package in this section.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_search-for-packages.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_search-for-packages.png\" alt=\"Search for packages in WHM\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>Click on <strong>Add a Package<\/strong>, then name the package by typing in the field labeled <strong>Package Name<\/strong>.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_whm-add-a-new-package.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_whm-add-a-new-package.png\" alt=\"Add new package\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>As a minimum, you will need to determine the allowed <strong>Disk Quota<\/strong> and Monthly Bandwidth allowed to the reseller account or the Package will not be created.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_quotas-reseller.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_quotas-reseller.png\" alt=\"Select quotas for the account\"><\/a> <br><br>Packages with unlimited Disk quota and bandwidth are not permitted on <strong>Shared Reseller<\/strong> accounts, since without root access you have a set amount of resources to offer clients on your account plan.<br><br>On <strong>VPS<\/strong> and <strong>Dedicated Hosting<\/strong> accounts, it is possible for you to set both Disk Quota and Bandwidth to <em>unlimited<\/em>. Keep in mind, though, that this does not <em>actually<\/em> provide unlimited Disk Quota or Bandwidth to the account. It simply means that cPanel will not restrict this account\u2019s use of either resource. \u201cUnlimited\u201d accounts can still use up all available resources on the server, right up until the point that the server itself runs out and starts experiencing technical issues. <br><br>You need to watch out for <strong>overselling<\/strong>, or you may end up with multiple customers promised unlimited bandwidth or disk space hitting the limitations of your server. Keeping ahead of overselling, and adjusting your server to compensate before you run into any trouble, is a fundamental systems administrator skill; see the <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.cpanel.net\/knowledge-base\/cpanel-product\/overselling\/\">official cPanel documentation of overselling<\/a> for more information and always work to communicate with your clients.<br><\/li><li>Once you have selected the resources allowed for the package you will need to configure the <strong>Settings<\/strong>. Among these settings is the option for selecting the <strong>Feature list<\/strong> (which includes AutoSSL). Scroll down until you you see the <strong>Settings<\/strong>.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-feature-list-for-package.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-feature-list-for-package.png\" alt=\"configure settings\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>Click on the drop-down menu for <strong>Feature list<\/strong>. Select the <strong>Feature list<\/strong> that you created earlier.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-feature-list-for-package.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_select-feature-list-for-package.png\" alt=\"Select created\/edited feature list\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>Click on <strong>ADD<\/strong> at the bottom of the page in order to save your settings.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/reseller-free-ssl\/click-add.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/reseller-free-ssl\/click-add.png\" alt=\"Click on the Add button\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"modify-account\">How to Modify the Account Listed in WHM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Now that you have created the feature list and added it to a package that can be assigned to the account, your next step is to add the package to the account where you want a free SSL to be applied (through AutoSSL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert alert-danger\">Note that the addition of free AutoSSL certificates to reseller accounts (the accounts created by the reseller) are added automatically. In order to control the accounts that receive free AutoSSLs, the accounts in WHM would need to have the package updated to include the AutoSSL feature as per the steps above and below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"article_list wp-block-list\"><li>In WHM, go to the <strong>Account<\/strong> section. To search for it in the search option of WHM (in the top left corner), type \u201clist.\u201d This will bring you to the <strong>Account Information<\/strong> section. Click on <strong>List Accounts<\/strong>.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_list-accounts-whm.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_list-accounts-whm.png\" alt=\"Go to List Accounts in WHM\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>Find the domain that you wish to work with and click on the \u201c+\u201d sign to the left of the account.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_click-plus-sign-for-account-modification.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_click-plus-sign-for-account-modification.png\" alt=\"Find domain to edit\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>Click on <strong>Modify Account<\/strong>.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_click-modify.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_click-modify.png\" alt=\"select to modify the account\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><li>Scroll down and find the <strong>Resource Limits<\/strong> section. You will see the package currently assigned to the account at the top of that section. Click on List Accounts in order to return to the list of accounts.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_upgrade-confirmation-messages.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_upgrade-confirmation-messages.png\" alt=\"Confirmation screen for applied changes\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"verify-in-cpanel\">How to Verify a Free Certificate in cPanel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have applied the package to the domain you will need to wait for the server to automatically apply the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/website\/ssl\/auto-ssl-guide\/\">free AutoSSL<\/a> to the account. It may take up to 24 hours but normally will take much less time. You can verify that a certificate has been applied by looking in the cPanel of the affected account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"article_list wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/edu\/cpanel\/how-to-log-into-cpanel\/\">Log in to cPanel<\/a>.<\/li><li>Scroll to the Security section and click on the SSL\/TLS icon.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_ssl-tls-icon-cpanel.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_ssl-tls-icon-cpanel.png\" alt=\"Go to the Security section to select SSL\/TLS\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div><\/li><li>Under <strong>Certificates (CRT)<\/strong> click on the link labeled <strong>Generate, view, upload, or delete SSL certificates<\/strong>.<br><a rel=\"lightbox-0\" href=\"\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_ssl-tls-main-screen.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_ssl-tls-main-screen.png\" alt=\"Click on Certificates (CRT)\"><\/a> <div style=\"clear: both;\">\u00a0<\/div> <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You will see a table listing the certificates applied to the domains listed in WHM. The Free AutoSSL certificate issuer is cPanel and the domains typically include the www and non-www versions of the domain as well as the mail server URL. AutoSSL certificates will automatically be updated, so the expiration date will be typically set 3 months out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/reseller-free-ssl_free-cert-applied.png\" alt=\"Certificate list\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"all-users\">Run AutoSSL for All Users<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before you begin, you will need to be logged into the Web Host Manager as a root user.
