How to Setup Email in Outlook 2010<\/h2>\n

You can set up Outlook 2010 to receive and send email<\/strong> hosted at InMotion Hosting. If you’re need setup information for a different version of Outlook, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Setup Guide<\/h2>\n

  1. First, open Outlook 2010 on your computer. Our first step is to add a new email account.<\/li>\n
  2. Click File<\/strong>, and then Add Account<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. On the New Account screen, click the “Manually configure server settings” radio button and click Next<\/strong><\/li>\n
  4. Select “Internet E-Mail<\/em>” on the next screen and click Next<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  5. Use the information below to help fill in the settings for your new email account.
    \n\n\n\n\n\n
    User Information<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
    Your Name<\/th>\nInsert your full name here. This name will appear on all your sent email.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Email Address<\/th>\nPut in your full email address, for example kevin@example.com<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Server Information<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
    Account Type<\/th>\nSelect POP3 if you want the emails to be downloaded to Outlook. Select IMAP if you want the emails to remain on your hosting server.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Incoming Mail Server<\/th>\nIf your domain is pointed to InMotion the incoming mail server is mail.example.com<\/em>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Outgoing Mail Server<\/th>\nThis will be the same as your Incoming Mail Server, mail.example.com<\/em>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Login Information<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
    User Name<\/th>\nThis will be your full email address. For example, kevin@example.com<\/em><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Password<\/th>\nThis is the password for the email account you listed above, and not the password for your cPanel.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Outgoing Server Tab<\/th>\nNext click on the More Settings…<\/strong> button and make the following modifications:<\/p>\n

    Outgoing Server Tab<\/strong>: On the outgoing Server Tab, make sure that “My outgoing server requires authentication<\/em>” is checked, as well as “Use same settings as my incoming mail server<\/em>“<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

    Advanced Tab<\/th>\nBy default you do not need to change anything here, however if you are having trouble sending email<\/a> then you can change the port settings here.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li>\n
  6. Click OK<\/strong> to get back to the Account Settings screen, and then click on Next<\/strong>.Congratulations, you have added your email account to Outlook 2010!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
