In this article we\u2019ll go over how you can copy an account from your previous host\u2019s control panel onto your server with us. Or if you have multiple servers with us you can copy accounts between your servers this way.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be going over the steps for transferring an account from a WHM \/ cPanel<\/strong> server. While other control panels are also supported in the account copy process, because we use WHM \/ cPanel<\/strong> ourselves this type of account copy would be the least accident prone.<\/p>\n

In order for this to work you\u2019ll need a valid cPanel account with another host, or on another server of ours. You\u2019ll also need that account to have SSH access to the server, and your server\u2019s IP address with us must be allowed to connect via SSH to your previous server.<\/p>\n

Transferring an account directly into WHM this way also will require root access<\/a> on either your VPS or dedicated server.<\/p>\n

  1. Log into WHM<\/a> on our server.<\/li>\n
  2. In the top-left Find<\/strong> box, type in transfer<\/strong>, then click on Copy any account from another server<\/strong>.

    Now you\u2019ll be presented with a drop-down list for Remote Server Type<\/strong>, in this example we\u2019re going to assume your previous host was using WHM\/cPanel<\/strong> and select that from the drop-down.<\/p>\n

    For the Remote Server Address<\/strong> field you\u2019ll want to type in the current IP address of your website on the old server, or your domain name if it\u2019s still pointed to that server.<\/p>\n

    By default the Remote SSH port<\/strong> should be 22<\/strong>, you can click on Check SSH Connection<\/strong> directly below this setting to ensure it\u2019s set correctly.<\/p>\n

    If you receive an error of Connecting to Remote Server Failed<\/strong> this typically means that your server\u2019s IP address with us isn\u2019t allowed in your old server\u2019s firewall. You\u2019ll want to add your IP address to the firewall following these steps:<\/p>\n
