Since the Eudora email client was recently released under an open-source license, people have been asking how to use this with InMotion Hosting’s servers. So, in this guide we will show you how to setup Eudora<\/strong> with a secure socket connection. For this example, we are using the POP option, which downloads your emails from the server. You will then be able to securely send and receive email from your InMotion Hosting Server.<\/p>\n

Setup Eudora<\/h2>\n

  1. Click the Personalities<\/b> panel.\n
    <\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  2. Right-click the personality such as &ltDominant><\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    , then select Properties<\/b>.<\/p>\n

  3. Enter your settings on the Generic properties<\/em> tab. Below is a description of what to enter.\n
    <\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Real Name<\/th>\nEnter the name you want to show the email coming from.<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
    Email Address<\/td>\nEnter your full email address such as: user@example.com<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    User Name<\/td>\nEnter your full email address such as: user@example.com<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    SMTP Server<\/td>\nEnter your secure server name such as: secure247.inmotionhosting.com<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Authentication allowed<\/td>\nChoose Yes<\/b>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Use relay personality, if defined:<\/td>\nSelect Yes<\/b>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Use submission port 587<\/td>\nLeave as not selected<\/b>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Default Domain<\/td>\nEnter your domain name such as: example.com<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Secure Sockets when Sending<\/td>\nUse the Required, STARTTLS.<\/b> option.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li>\n
  4. On the Incoming Mail Properties<\/b> tab enter your settings. Below is a description of the options.\n

    Server<\/th>\nEnter your secure server name, such as: secure247.inmotionhosting.com<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
    Configuration<\/td>\nChoose POP<\/b>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Authentication style<\/td>\nSelect the Passwords<\/b> option.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Secure Sockets when Receiving<\/td>\nChoose Required, Alternate Port<\/b>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li>\n
  5. Go to Tools<\/b>, Options<\/b>, then the Esoteric ports options<\/b> section. Make sure all 5 options are blank.\n
