When Matomo Analytics<\/a> has a new update available, the administrator is notified via email and the upper-right corner upon dashboard login. Below we cover how to update Matomo automatically within your browser<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Update Matomo<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Select Update automatically<\/strong> on the welcome screen.
    \n    \"New<\/a>\n
    <\/div>\n

    Pressing Download [Version]<\/strong> prompts you to download the update file to handle manually.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    <li>After the update completes, press <strong>Continue to Matomo<\/strong> at the bottom.\n<\/code><\/pre>\n

  2. You may be prompted to upgrade your Matomo database afterwards. You can do so using Upgrade Matomo<\/strong> button.

    Alternatively, you can SSH into the cPanel account<\/a> and run the following command:<\/p>\n
    php \/home\/cpaneluser<\/em>\/public_html\/MatomoFolderName<\/em>\/console core:update<\/pre>\n
    Note:<\/strong> You can backup your database beforehand in cPanel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
  3. Continue to Matomo<\/strong> dashboard to see new features<\/a>.
