On Shared hosting accounts that responsibility is transferred to us as we accommodate different types of customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>VPS and Dedicated Hosting users with root access have access to harden their security by disabling content management system (CMS) and other software scripts. You can also remove pre-installed data for those scripts that aren\u2019t likely to be used or haven\u2019t been updated in months or years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As one the more important security-related features of Softaculous administration via WebHost Manager (WHM), we recommend you make time to clean up unneeded scripts to prevent a cPanel user from installing potentially insecure software as possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below we cover how to <strong>disable and remove Softaculous scripts<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"disable\">Disable Softaculous Scripts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"article_list wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"\/support\/edu\/whm\/log-into-whm\/#whm-root-access\">Log in to WHM as Root<\/a>.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Softaculous \u2013 Instant Installs<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Under <strong>Software<\/strong>, click <strong>General Scripts<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Click the checkbox above <em>Outdated<\/em> (third and last on the right) to disable all outdated scripts.<\/li><li>To remove pre-installed data for a script, deselect the second checkbox to the right of the script.<\/li><li>Click <strong>Update Settings<\/strong> at the top or bottom of the page.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"custom\">Disable Custom Scripts<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Any scripts uploaded by your hosting provider instead of Softaculous directly will be listed here.
