Now, this error can come in different forms. If you&#8217;re seeing a generic &#8220;down for maintenance&#8221; error and the client area is blocked, check to see if <a href=\"#maintenance-mode-on\">maintenance mode is on<\/a>. On the alternate path, if you&#8217;re seeing &#8220;down for maintenance&#8221; and &#8220;update in progress&#8221; proceed to the <a href=\"#upgrade\">upgrade in progress<\/a> section of this article.\n\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"outline-container-orgdee6a99\" class=\"outline-3\">\n<h3 id=\"maintenance-mode-on\"><a id=\"orgdee6a99\"><\/a>Check If Maintenance Mode Is On<\/h3>\n<div class=\"outline-text-3\" id=\"text-maintenance-mode-on\">\n\nFirst things first, it&#8217;s possible maintenance mode was turned on during updates and is still set to the &#8220;On&#8221; position. This is an easy fix.\n<ol class=\"article_list\">\n    <li><a href=\"\/support\/edu\/whm\/login-to-whmcs\/\">Log into your WHMCS account<\/a><\/li>\n    <li>Click the <b>Setup<\/b> tab<\/li>\n    <li>Open <b>General Settings<\/b> (you may be asked to confirm your password, no sweat)<\/li>\n    <li>Uncheck <b>Maintenance Mode<\/b> under the <i>General<\/i> tab<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nNow, you should notice the maintenance mode error has lifted.
