Removing unneeded features is an important but often neglected step in web design. Open Web Analytics includes a Hello World<\/em> module as a template for users wishing to develop custom modules. For users uninterested in development, here\u2019s how to remove modules in Open Web Analytics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Note:<\/strong> Below we\u2019ll remove the pre-installed Hello World<\/em> module. If you\u2019re sure you won\u2019t need the other modules, for GDPR compliance<\/a> in example, you can remove the others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remove Modules<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
  1. Log into cPanel, FTP<\/a>, or SSH<\/a>.<\/li>
  2. Navigate to your Open Web Analytics directory, then the \/modules<\/em> directory.<\/li>
  3. Remove the \/hello<\/em> directory.<\/li>
  4. Log into Open Web Analytics.<\/li>
  5. Select Administration<\/strong> from the top.<\/li>
  6. Select Modules<\/strong> from the left. The Hello World<\/em> module should not be listed.
