It\u2019s a great tool since it not only tracks all of the installations and versions, but it also provide installation management for your users. However, what if you want to limit the list of programs that your users can install? Fortunately, this is easily done through the Softaculous interface in WHM.<\/p>\n<p class=\"alert alert-info\">If you\u2019re looking for a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/dedicated-servers\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Dedicated Server hosting<\/a><\/strong> solution, then check out the options provided by InMotion Hosting!<\/p>\n<p class=\"alert alert-danger\">Note: In order to make these changes you will need to have root access to your VPS or Dedicated server.<\/p>\n<h2>Editing the Application list in Softaculous<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"article_list\">\n<li>First, you will need to <a href=\"\/support\/edu\/whm\/log-into-whm\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">log in to WHM<\/a> as a <a href=\"\/support\/amp\/obtain-root-access\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">root user<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Next, use the search field in the top left corner and type in \u201cPlugins\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>You will brought to the menu for plugins in the left column. Click on <strong>Softaculous \u2013 Instant Installs<\/strong>. Click on this link.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/softaculous-script-list\/softaculous-2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" alt=\"d\" class=\"std_ss alignnone\" height=\"925\" src=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/softaculous-script-list\/softaculous-2.png\" style=\"float: right; margin: 0px 0px 15px 15px;\" width=\"100\"><\/a> You will then see the <strong>Softaculous<\/strong> screen. In the menu at left, click on <strong>Software<\/strong>.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>This will open up menus under it that include: <strong>General Scripts<\/strong>, <strong>Custom Scripts<\/strong>, <strong>Advanced Settings<\/strong> and <strong>Scripts Requirements<\/strong>. For the purpose of this tutorial we will look at how to change the scripts in the <strong>General Scripts<\/strong> section. In the far right you will see two columns of checkmarks. The first column of checkboxes is used to enable or disable the availability of the scripts. the second column is used to pre-load the script. This makes the application load faster.
