This will allow you to take corrective action like removing some email messages or <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/support\/email\/email-error-mailbox-quota-exceeded\/\" target=\"_blank\">increasing the mailbox quota limit<\/a> which can prevent the suspension of an email account\u2019s sending\/receiving abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"mailbox-quota\">How Mailbox Quota Limits Work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Email accounts can be created for each domain by their respective owner\u2019s cPanel user. However, if an email account was to become compromised, having a mailbox disk quota limit already set may reduce the risk of being blacklisted for Spam being generated from your server. Rather than the hacked account continuously sending emails (which are usually <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/support\/security\/identifying-phishing-scams\/\" target=\"_blank\">phishing attempts<\/a> and <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"\/support\/email\/what-is-spam\/\" target=\"_blank\">Spam<\/a>), specifying a limit will prevent emails from being sent once the mailbox quota limit is reached.
