Our VirtueMart for Joomla 2.5 tutorial series<\/strong> continues, and in this article we\u2019ll discuss uploading category images<\/strong>. In our previous article, we added our first product category<\/a>, Operating Systems. As Category Name was the only required field, that\u2019s all we entered. After saving the new category, you can see that VirtueMart shows a PRODUCT Image Unavailable<\/strong> image. After creating a new category, you can add or change the category image at any time. We\u2019ll show you just how to do that in this VirtueMart tutorial.<\/p>\n

To Upload a new Category Image in VirtueMart for Joomla 2.5<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Log into your Joomla Dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. In the top menu, hover over Components<\/strong> and click VirtueMart<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Click the Product Categories<\/strong> button<\/li>\n
  4. Click the Category Name<\/strong> that you would like to change the image for
    \"click-your-product-category\"<\/a>\n

  5. Click the Images<\/strong> tab
    \"click-the-images-tab\"<\/a>\n
    <\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  6. Scroll down the page and find the Upload File<\/strong> header. Underneath, Set Image Action<\/strong> to Upload<\/strong>. Click the Browse<\/strong> button and find on your computer the image you want to upload to represent the category.

  7. In the top right of the page, click Save<\/strong><\/li>\n
  8. You have now successfully uploaded an image for your category<\/strong>. In the screenshots below, you can see before and after images of our product category\u2019s image:
