In this tutorial, we will show you how to reset your WordPress Permalinks<\/strong>. Resetting permalinks rebuilds your link structure for WordPress<\/a>. Often, this process must be performed after migrating a WordPress website<\/a>, or when troubleshooting 404 errors. This is accomplished by choosing a different permalink setting and saving it. Then putting the permalink setting back to the original setting and saving it again. This is a common step when Troubleshooting WordPress<\/a> problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Resetting your WordPress Permalinks<\/h2>\n

  1. Log in to the WordPress Dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. In the navigation<\/em> menu click Settings<\/strong>, then click Permalinks<\/strong>.

  3. Notice what setting you have selected, options are Plain<\/em>, Day and name<\/em>, Month and name<\/em>, Numeric<\/em>, Post name<\/em>, Custom Structure<\/em>. If you are using a Custom Structure<\/em> copy and save it, so you can put it back later.

  4. Select the Plain<\/strong> setting, then click the Save Changes<\/strong> button. If you already have the Plain<\/strong> setting selected, choose Day and name<\/strong>, then click the Save Changes<\/strong> button.
