In this tutorial, we show you how to setup DMARC<\/strong> records in cPanel to specify how mail servers should handle messages from your domain that don\u2019t have valid SPF<\/strong> and DKIM<\/strong><\/a> records setup. Since the DMARC standard is used by many email providers (such as Gmail, Yahoo!, AOL, Hotmail, Outlook), it increases your chances of email being delivered successfully. We provide basic DMARC record examples below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DMARC Setup Steps<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Login to cPanel<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click Zone Editor<\/strong> under Domains<\/em>.

  3. Click the Manage <\/strong>button next to the domain you want to work with.

  4. Click the +Add Record<\/strong> button.

  5. Change the <\/span>Type<\/em> from <\/span>A<\/strong> to <\/span>TXT<\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Enter the Name<\/strong>, TTL<\/strong>, Type<\/strong>, and Record<\/strong> as described below. Keep in mind that you must select one of the following options for the Record<\/em> field: None<\/strong>, Reject<\/strong>, or Quarantine<\/strong>.

    Record<\/td> In this field you must choose how you want recipient servers to handle email from your domain that fails SPF\/DKIM validation. Options are outlined below in red:
    None: <\/strong> v=DMARC1; p=none; sp=none; rf=afrf; pct=100; ri=86400<\/code>
    Reject:<\/strong> v=DMARC1; p=reject; sp=none; rf=afrf; pct=100; ri=86400<\/code>
    Quarantine:<\/strong> v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; sp=none; rf=afrf; pct=100; ri=86400<\/code>

    <\/span>Alternately, you can request an email report of failed DMARC validations by adding a valid email address, such as the following:<\/p>

    None: <\/strong> v=DMARC1; p=none; sp=none; ruf=mailto:user@example.com; rf=afrf; pct=100; ri=86400<\/code>

  7. Click Add Record<\/strong> to save your record.

    Note<\/strong>: In Zone Editor<\/strong>, typing \u201c_dmarc<\/em>\u201d will autopopulate the domain.<\/p>
