In this tutorial, we will show you how to install<\/strong> the JotCache<\/strong> Extension in Joomla<\/strong> 3. JotCache provides more in-depth control of caching in Joomla. There are 3 steps to installing the JotCache Joomla Extension, we will cover them now.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

Upload & Install the JotCache Extension<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Download the latest stable<\/em> version of JotCache here<\/a>. At the time this article was written the latest version was JotCache 5.0(Stable)<\/strong>, and the file was titled pkg_jotcache_5.0.6_j33.zip<\/strong>.

  2. Login to the Joomla Admin Dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. In the main menu click Extensions<\/strong>, then click Extension Manager<\/strong>. See the steps below.

  4. Click Choose File<\/strong> in the Upload & Install Joomla Extension<\/em> section, then select and open the JotCache<\/strong> file you downloaded in Step 1<\/strong>. Then, click the Upload & Install<\/strong> button.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Disabling System-Cache plugin<\/h2>\n

    The System-Cache plugin was already disabled by default in my tests, but you can easily disable it from the Admin Dashboard if it is enabled.<\/p>\n

    1. Login to the Joomla Admin Dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    2. Roll your mouse over System<\/strong>, then click Global Configuration<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. Click the System<\/strong> tab on the Global Configuration<\/em> page.

    4. Click the drop-down box next to Cache*<\/strong>, and click the OFF \u2013 Caching disabled<\/strong> option.

    5. Click the Save<\/strong> button, and your System-Cache plugin will be disabled.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Enabling JotCache plugin<\/h2>\n

      After installing the Jotcache Extensions, and disabling System-Cache (if necessary), you can finally turn the Jotcache plugin on. We will now walk you through enabling the JotCache plugin in Joomla 3.<\/p>\n

      1. Login to the Joomla Admin Dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n
      2. In the navigation menu<\/em> click Components<\/strong>, then JotCache<\/strong>.

      3. You will see a JotCache plugin disabled<\/em><\/span> message, click the povided link. See the image below.

      4. On the JotCache plugin page, click the Disabled<\/strong> menu, then change it to Enabled<\/strong>.
