Create a VirtueMart Menu Item<\/a> Set Virtuemart as your Default Menu<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

After installing VirtueMart 3<\/a>, often you will want to set it as the main front page<\/strong> of your website. This will cause your VirtueMart store to load when people navigate to your website, and they will not have to click a menu link to get to your store. In this tutorial we will show you how to make VirtueMart your main front page. To set VirtueMart 3 as your front page, you will have to add a new Main Menu<\/em> item, then set it as the default.<\/p>\n

Creating a VirtueMart 3 Menu Item<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Login to your Joomla Admin Panel<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Click Menus<\/strong>, Main Menu<\/strong>, then Add New Menu Item<\/strong>. See the steps outlined below:

  3. You will then be on the New Menu Item<\/em> page. Enter a name for your VirtueMart menu item. In my tests I put My Store<\/strong> in the field.<\/li>\n
  4. Next to the Menu Item Type<\/em> click the Select<\/strong> button. Click VirtueMart<\/strong> from the list, then click Front page<\/strong>.

  5. Click Save & Close<\/strong>. You are finished when you see a message stating \u201cMenu item successfully saved<\/em>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Setting VirtueMart 3 as the Default Menu<\/h2>\n

    1. Login to your Joomla Admin Panel.<\/li>\n
    2. Click Menus<\/strong>, then Main Menu<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. You will see your menus listed, click the star next to your VirtueMart menu.
