In this Joomla 3<\/strong> tutorial we will show you how to add a weather module<\/strong> to your website. You will then be able to display the weather forcast for a specific region. In this guide, we will be using the free Weather365, which is powered by Weather365.net<\/a>. I chose this module because it can be set up easily, and it does not require any payment or registration.<\/p>\n

Installing and Enabling the Weather365 Module<\/h2>\n

    1. Download the Weather365<\/strong> module. At the time this article was written the file was named: mod_weather_365_3.0.zip<\/em>.

    2. Login to the Joomla 3 dashboard<\/a>.<\/li>\n
    3. Click Extensions<\/strong>, then Extension Manager<\/strong> in the main menu.<\/li>\n
    4. Click the Choose File<\/strong> button, and select the Weather365<\/em> module you downloaded in Step 1<\/strong>. Then click the Upload & Install<\/strong> button. It is installed when you see a message stating \u201cInstalling module was successful.<\/em>\u201c<\/li>\n
    5. In the main menu, click Extensions<\/strong>, then click Module Manager.<\/strong><\/li>\n
    6. In the search box<\/em> type Weather365<\/strong>, then click the search button. Click the red X<\/span> next to the Weather365<\/em> module to enable it.

      Configure the Weather365 Module<\/h2>\n

      1. Go to the Weather365<\/a> site, enter the city you want the weather displayed for, then hit Enter<\/strong> on the keyboard. You will see your city listed, copy the number code next to it for later use.

      2. In the Joomla Dashboard<\/a>, click Extensions<\/strong>, then Module Manager<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
      3. Click the Weather365<\/strong> module.

        You will then see the see the Weather365<\/em> settings, fill them in as needed. Below is a brief description of the options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
        Option<\/th>\nDescription<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n
        CityID<\/td>\nEnter the number you copied in Step 1<\/strong> here.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Forecast<\/td>\nSelect if you want to display a 1 day<\/em>, or 3 day<\/em> forecast.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Style<\/td>\nChoose from 4 different styles: 1, 2, 3, and 4. I recommend trying them to see which one you prefer.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Temperature Scale<\/td>\nChoose C<\/strong> for celsius<\/em>, or F<\/strong> for fahrenheit<\/em>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Alignment<\/td>\nSelect if you want the weather module to align right, left, or center.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
        Cache Time<\/td>\nChoose how often you want your website to update the weather forecast. Your choices range from 1 hour<\/em>, to 12 hours<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        Fix German Umlaut If you are displaying the weather in German, choosing Yes<\/strong> here will fix the umlaut \u201c\u00a8<\/strong>\u201d in the database.<\/p>\n
