In our last article, we showed you how to remove \u201cHome\u201d<\/em> from your Joomla 3 breadcrumbs<\/a>. If you wanted to keep \u201cHome\u201d<\/em> but change the text to something else, you can. For example, you can have \u201cBlog\u201d<\/em> show instead of \u201cHome\u201d<\/em> in your breadcrumbs.<\/p>\n

One of the Joomla 3 breadcrumb settings<\/a>, Text for Home Entry<\/em>, allows you to change the home<\/em> text. This setting is defined by Joomla as follows:<\/p>\n

Text for Home Entry<\/strong>
\nThis text will be shown as Home entry. If the field is left empty, it will use the default value from the mod_breadcrumbs.ini language file<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n

To change the \u201cHome\u201d text in your breadcrumbs:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Log into your Joomla 3 dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. In the top menu, click Extensions<\/strong> and then click Module Manager<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Find and click on your breadcrumbs<\/em> module<\/li>\n
  4. Find the Text for Home Entry<\/em> setting. Depending on your Joomla version, it should be under either the Module<\/em> tab or the Basic Settings<\/em> tab.\n

    Enter a new value for Text for Home Entry<\/em>, and then click the Save<\/strong> button at the top of the page.<\/p>\n

    In our testing, we entered blog<\/em>. You can see in the screenshots below how this changed our breadcrumbs:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
