There is also a small percentage of merchants out there that run a physical brick and mortar store. They may want to showcase their products online but not allow online purchases. In this case, they may still use PrestaShop in a <em>Catalog<\/em> mode. This means that all the products will display on the site but information such as price will not display. The shopping cart feature will also be disabled. Follow the guide below to learn how to place your PrestaShop 1.6 store in catalog mode.<\/p>\n<h2>How to enable catalog mode in PrestaShop 1.6<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"article_list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/edu\/prestashop\/login-prestashop-dashboard\/\">Log into the PrestaShop 1.6 back office<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Look to the left hand menu and click on the <strong>Preferences<\/strong> option.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Next, click on the <strong>Products<\/strong> link.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/edu\/ps16\/preferences\/products\/catalog-mode\/1-catalog-mode.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"float: right; margin: 0px 0px 15px 15px;\" title=\"Click here to view the larger image\" src=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/edu\/ps16\/preferences\/products\/catalog-mode\/1-catalog-mode.png\" alt=\"Catalog Mode setting\" width=\"100%\"><\/a>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<p>This brings you to the <em>Products Preferenes<\/em> page. Look for the setting labeled <strong>Catalog Mode<\/strong>. It is set to <em>No<\/em> by default, meaning visitors have the ability to purchase on the site. Click the toggle switch to set it to <em>Yes<\/em>.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once set to <em>Yes<\/em> click on the <strong>Save<\/strong> save button in the lower right corner of the section to activate it.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Now that you have set the site to catalog mode, you can visit it to see that it looks the same except for the ability to purchase products.
