You can associate products with more than one category. You will also want to assign them to as many relevant categories as possible. This tutorial walks you through the basics of assigning a product to a category in PrestaShop 1.6.<\/p>\n<h2>How to add your product to a category<\/h2>\n<ol class=\"article_list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inmotionhosting.com\/support\/edu\/prestashop\/login-prestashop-dashboard\/\">Log into the admin interface<\/a>.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>From the main dashboard screen, first click on the <strong>Catalog<\/strong> and then the <strong>Products<\/strong> tab.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>From your main <em>Products<\/em> list page, click on the <strong>Edit<\/strong> button on the row of your selected product.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>From the main <em>Information<\/em> page fo the product, click on the <strong>Associations<\/strong> tab.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/edu\/ps16\/products\/add-association\/1-default-association-screen.png\" rel=\"lightbox-0\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"std_ss\" style=\"float: right; margin: 0px 0px 15px 15px;\" title=\"Click here to view the larger image\" src=\"\/support\/images\/stories\/edu\/ps16\/products\/add-association\/1-default-association-screen.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\"><\/a>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<p>This is the Associations tab. In our example, we selected the <strong>Televisions<\/strong> category. Note that the <em>Home<\/em> category is also selected by default. You may deselect that if you wish. If you need to create a new category to add to the list, click the <strong>Create new category<\/strong> link.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>If you have selected more than one category for your product, you will need to choose one of them to be the Default category. If you only selected one category, it will be the only one in the dropdown to select.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>The <em>Accessories<\/em> field allows you to list other products to go along with this one. As you begin typing in the product name it will appear in the field.\n<div style=\"clear: both;\"><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>The last field is where you will select the manufacturer from the dropdown list.
