When you are working with your site, either in the initial build or adding new content<\/a>, you may want to set the site to Maintenance mode<\/em>. Drupal 8 allows you to set the site so that visitors will see a customized message while those that have a specific permission will still be able to view the site normally and continue working on it. The instructions below show you how to set the site to Maintenance mode<\/em> from within the Admin dashboard<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to enable maintenance mode<\/h2>\n
    \n
  1. Log into your Drupal 8 admin dashboard<\/a>.\n
    \u00a0<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  2. \"\"<\/a>From the top menu bar, click on Menu<\/strong> and then click on Configuration<\/strong> from the second menu bar.\n
    \u00a0<\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  3. \"Click<\/a>This leads you to the Configuration<\/em> page. From here, locate the Development<\/em> section and then click on the Maintenance Mode<\/strong> link.\n

  4. \"Click<\/a>You are now on the Maintenance Mode<\/em> page. In order to activate the maintenance mode<\/em> find and click on the checkbox named Put site into maintenance mode<\/strong>.\n
