The Joomla App Store<\/strong> is a new feature introduced in Joomla 3.2. This feature allows you to download and install Joomla extensions directly from your Joomla dashboard \u2013 which is a big time saver.<\/p>\n

Prior to this feature, you would need to search the web for an extension, download it to your desktop, then access the Joomla dashboard and install it. Being able to perform all of these tasks straight from your Joomla dashboard is more efficient and helps to save time.<\/p>\n

In this tutorial, we will show you how to install the Joomla App Store<\/em><\/a> and also how to use it to download and install extensions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Joomla 3.0 \/ Joomla 3.1<\/h2>\n

The Joomla App Store<\/em> extension manager was not introduced until Joomla 3.2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Install the Joomla App Store Extension<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Log into your Joomla 3.2 admin dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. In the top menu, click Extensions<\/strong> >> Extension Manager<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. At the top of the page, you will see the following message:\n

    Joomla! Extensions Directory (JED) now available with Install from Web on this page. By clicking \u201cAdd Install from Web tab\u201d below, you agree to the JED Terms of Service and all applicable third party license terms.<\/em><\/p>\n

    Click the Add \u201cInstall from Web\u201d tab<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

    When the extension has finished installing, you\u2019ll see the following message:<\/p>\n

    Installing plugin was successful.<\/em><\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Installing an Extension from the Joomla App Store<\/h3>\n

    After the Joomla App Store<\/em> Extension has been installed<\/a>, you can use it to install a Joomla extension. In this tutorial, we\u2019ll show you how to install the JCE Editor<\/em>, which is a popular WYSIWYG editor for Joomla.<\/p>\n

    1. Find the extension you want to install<\/strong>\n

    2. Click the install button<\/strong>\n

    3. Click the install button\u2026 again<\/strong>\n

      When you click the green install button, you\u2019ll see a message similar to the following:<\/p>\n

      Please confirm the installation by clicking on the Install button<\/strong>

      \nInstall from: https:\/\/jce.s3.amazonaws.com\/updates\/com_jce_2344.zip <\/em><\/p>\n
