This tutorial will explain how to setup an internet email account on a Windows phone. You will need to know your email account settings<\/a> in order to set up your account. This also means that your email account should have already been created in cPanel<\/a> before beginning this process.<\/p>\n

Please note that these screens are meant to be a generic representation of the steps for setting up internet email on a Windows phone. The exact screen may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer \u2013 please see your phone\u2019s manual for specific screen details.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

      Login to your phone and then go to the Applications (or Apps) screen. You will be looking for SETTINGS<\/b>. If you a large number of apps, you might need to scroll to the bottom and swipe the right-arrow to continue looking through your apps.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                          You will need to type in your email address and email account password at this point. This is for the account that you are trying to access and see on your phone. Tap next<\/b> to continue.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                              You will then see options listed under ADVANCED SETUP<\/b>. Tap on \u201cInternet email\u201d<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                  At this point, you will need to know your email settings. If you are unaware of your email settings, you can find them by going to finding your email settings<\/a>. The account name is the same as the email address. \u201cYour name\u201d is the name used when the email is sent. \u201cAccount Type\u201d is either POP3 or IMAP -the account can be setup with either type, but you will need to select one. For more information IMAP vs. POP3, check out How email works in general<\/a>. You may need to scroll down in order to fill in all of the settings that are available. Scroll down until you two check boxes as per the screenshot at right.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                      Tap each of the check boxes so that you see a check mark in each box. These check boxes include: Outgoing server requires authentication<\/em> and Use the same user name and password for sending email<\/em>. These options are both true and required. When the check marks are in the check boxes, tap on advanced settings<\/b> at the bottom of the screen to proceed.<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                        You will see the Outgoing server requires authentication<\/em> and Use the same user name and password for sending email<\/em> check boxes again. They should be still be checked. If not, then tap each box to add the checkmark. The next two items depend on if you are using the secure email settings. Here\u2019s an example of secure email settings:<\/p><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                        INCOMING for POP3:<\/b> server: secure##.inmotionhosting.com port:995<\/p>\n

                                        INCOMING for IMAP:<\/b> server: secure##.inmotionhosting.com port:993<\/p>\n

                                        OUTGOING(SMTP) for either POP3\/IMAP settings:<\/b> server: secure##.inmotionhosting.com port:465<\/p>\n

                                        Tap to check the boxes ONLY<\/em><\/b> if you are using the secure settings for incoming or outgoing email settings.<\/p>\n
