When you create a cPanel as a web hosting Reseller<\/a>, you have an option to copy some standard files to the account, such as a default landing page. For example, you may want a \u201ccoming soon\u201d page as a placeholder on new accounts, then when your customer uploads their own website files they can remove the existing page.<\/p>\n

In this article, I will show you how to upload a custom default landing page via the cPanel File Manager. You can also upload files using FTP, or SSH.<\/p>\n

For a file to load by default<\/em>, it must be named: default.htm, default.html, index.htm, index.html, or index.php<\/p>\n

How to Use a Custom Default Page<\/h2>\n

  1. Login to cPanel<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Click the File Manager<\/strong> button under Files<\/em>
    \n    \"\"<\/a>\n
    <\/div>\n<\/li>\n
  3. In the left<\/em> navigation window, click the cpanel3-skel<\/strong> folder, then click the public_html<\/strong> folder.

  4. Click the Upload<\/strong> button, then click the Browse<\/strong> button and select your custom default page<\/em>, and click the Open<\/strong> button. The file will then be uploaded.
