Until now, the easiest solution was to provide them with the cPanel username and password to access phpMyAdmin. For security purposes, this may not be the best solution since this would allow the third party complete access to your cPanel account, including email, add-on domains, and other files \/ databases you may have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can install phpMyAdmin on your server in a few easy steps that will eliminate the need to provide your designer with cPanel access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"#manual\">Manual Installation<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#ssh\">SSH<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"#softaculous\">Softaculous<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"manual\">Installing phpMyAdmin on Shared Hosting Packages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list article_list\">\n<li>Download the zip file of the latest version of phpMyAdmin at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.phpmyadmin.net\/downloads\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>phpMyAdmin.net<\/strong><\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once you download the zip file, you\u2019ll need to upload the file via an <abbr title=\"File Transfer Protocol\">FTP<\/abbr> program or by using <a href=\"\/support\/website\/how-to-upload-files-server\/\">cPanel File Manager<\/a>. Rename the folder \u201c<em>phpMyAdmin-5.2.1-all-languages.zip<\/em>\u201d to \u201c<em>phpmyadmin<\/em>\u201d or similar for additional security.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit the folder in your web browser, e.g. <em>https:\/\/example.com\/phpmyadmin\/setup<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will need to create a <em>config.inc.php<\/em> file. Then click \u201cSave\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can now access phpMyAdmin without cPanel by visiting, e.g. <em>https:\/\/example.com\/phpmyadmin\/index.php.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"alert alert-info\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> If using SuPHP, make sure the <a href=\"\/support\/website\/where-is-my-htaccess-file\/\">.htaccess files do not have PHP settings<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations!
