Creating a blog in Joomla 2.5 can be done with both free and commercial extensions. When we sought out to write a tutorial series for blogging in Joomla 2.5, we figured we’d be able to find a popular free extension and begin testing. In our experience, setting up a blog in Joomla should be left up to the paid extensions.<\/p>\n

While Joomla’s website shows several free components you can blog with, some of them:<\/p>\n

  1. Did not install correctly<\/li>\n
  2. Had too many negative reviews<\/li>\n
  3. Lacked any interest from the community<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/td>\n
The better of the blog extensions for Joomla 2.5 are commercial. While we did not purchase any of them, based upon their screenshots and online demos they do seem like really good components.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
