At times, you may want to sell a digital product such as an image, audio file, or e-book. This can be easily accomplished in OpenCart. To offer a downloadable product, you\u2019ll first have to upload the file within OpenCart and then you\u2019ll need to link the file to a product.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Important!<\/strong> Remember to uncheck the \u201cRequires Shipping<\/em>\u201d checkbox or your customers will be charged shipping fees by mistake.<\/p>\n

Uploading Your Digital Product<\/h2>\n

  1. Log into your OpenCart Dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. Go to Catalog > Downloads<\/strong><\/li>\n
  3. Click \u201cInsert<\/strong>\u201d in the upper right corner<\/li>\n

  4. Fill in the fields with a download name, Select the file to upload on your local computer, and type in the number of downloads allowed per user purchase<\/li>\n

  5. Click \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Linking the download file to a product<\/h2>\n

    1. Log into your OpenCart Dashboard<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Go to Products<\/strong><\/li>\n
    3. Click \u201cInsert<\/strong>\u201d to create a new product or click \u201cEdit<\/strong>\u201d next to an existing product<\/li>\n
    4. Click on the \u201clinks<\/strong>\u201d tab<\/li>\n
    5. Scroll towards the bottom of the page, go to the \u201cDownloads<\/strong>\u201d section and select the file you want to be made available on this product<\/li>\n

    6. While still editing this product, click on the \u201cData<\/strong>\u201d tab and scroll down to the section called \u201cWeight<\/strong>\u201d. Enter a weight of \u201c0<\/strong>\u201d (zero) in the field. This tells OpenCart it is a downloadable product<\/li>\n
    7. Click on \u201cSave<\/strong>\u201d in the upper right corner<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
