When you need to work with the menus and links that help your users navigate within your PHP-Fusion website you are actually managing the panels and site links. \u00a0You can control position, visibility per user type, and appearance of the links. \u00a0The following article explains panels how they are used to setup the navigation menus within the PHP-Fusion website. \u00a0For more information on Site Links, please see Managing Site Links in PHP-Fusion<\/a><\/em>.<\/div>\n

Setting Up and Editing Panels within PHP-Fusion<\/h2>\n

Understanding Panels<\/h3>\n

To understand the panels within PHP-Fusion review the screenshot below. \u00a0Each panel section is highlighted and labeled:<\/p>\n

As per the screenshot above, you can see the positions of the panels that PHP-Fusion uses in its default layout. \u00a0Each position is listed in the Panel management area. \u00a0If you login as an Admin and go into the menus for the PANELS<\/strong> (under SYSTEM ADMIN<\/strong>), you will see the options available for editing each panel:\n

You can add multiple panels per position. \u00a0Each item within the panel is a Site Link<\/strong> (see Managing Site Links in PHP-Fusion<\/a><\/em> for more details). \u00a0Note the green arrows on each panel item. \u00a0You can click and drag each item to reposition each of the listed site links.<\/div>\n

Creating New Panels\n<\/h3>\n

  1. Login to the PHP-Fusion Admin Panel.<\/a><\/li>\n
  2. \"Admin<\/a>\n
    <\/div>\n

    In the section labeled with the ADMIN USER<\/strong> name, click on ADMIN PANEL<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

    Click on the SYSTEM ADMIN<\/strong> tab and then click on the PANELS<\/strong> icon to open the PANELS\u00a0<\/strong>management area. <\/p>\n

    The screenshot to the right is identical to the one above and represents the Panel management<\/strong> area within the PHP-Fusion Admin Panel. \u00a0Note that each section (Left, Upper Center, Lower Center, and Right) has an option button labeled NEW<\/strong>. \u00a0 Click on NEW<\/strong> button and you will see the screen for adding a new Panel. <\/p>\n

    When you open the ADD PANEL<\/strong> dialog (by clicking on NEW PANEL), you will see the options to add a new Panel Name, selecting a Panel filename, Panel Content, \u00a0Panel restrictions, and panel access. \u00a0Each of the options are described below:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Panel Name<\/th>\nName of the panel as it will appear on the website\u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Panel Filename<\/th>\nName of a file controlling the behavior of the panel; if you select an existing file, then the Panel Content will be ignored<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Panel Content<\/th>\nYou can use PHP code control panel behavior as it appears on the website<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Panel Restriction<\/th>\nYou can use the Panel Restriction to exclude or include pages on the website. \u00a0The radial button for \u201cExclude on these pages\u201d and \u201cInclude on these pages\u201d must chosen on the right.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Panel Access<\/th>\nDetermine who can see the panel: public, member, administrator, super administrator<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

  6. Click on each field and select or program your options as per the needs of your new panel.<\/li>\n
  7. Click on PREVIEW PANEL<\/strong>\u00a0to view the panel as you have selected or SAVE PANEL<\/strong> to save your entries.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Edit, Disable or Delete Panels<\/h3>\n

    1. Login to the PHP-Fusion Admin Panel.<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. In the section labeled with the\u00a0ADMIN USER<\/strong>\u00a0name, click on\u00a0ADMIN PANEL<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
    3. \"Edit,<\/a>\n
      <\/div>\n

      Click on the\u00a0SYSTEM ADMIN<\/strong>\u00a0tab and then click on the\u00a0PANELS<\/strong>\u00a0icon to open the\u00a0PANELS\u00a0<\/strong>management area. <\/p>\n

    4. Management actions available for the Panel:
      \n\n\n\n\n\n\n
      EDIT<\/strong><\/th>\nClick on EDIT<\/strong> in OPTIONS<\/strong> column to edit panel. \u00a0Make sure to click on SAVE CHANGES<\/strong> after making any changes to panel<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
      DISABLE<\/strong><\/th>\nClick on DISABLE<\/strong> to immediately disable a panel. \u00a0Click on ENABLE<\/strong> to re-enable the panel.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
      DELETE<\/strong><\/th>\nClick on DELETE<\/strong> in the OPTIONS<\/strong> column to delete a panel. \u00a0Care should be taken when deleting as you only have the one confirmation question to delete before it actually occurs.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
      DRAG-n-DROP<\/strong><\/th>\nAs per the earlier description of this option (in the section above), there is a DRAG-N-DROP<\/strong> option available within the menu. \u00a0Simply left-click on the green arrows the left of the Panel name, then drag to the new position and release. \u00a0<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
