Making a Blog in Movable Type<\/h2>\n

  1. Login to the Movable Type Administrator Dashboard<\/a>. \u00a0<\/li>\n
  2. There are two ways to create a new BLOG<\/strong>. \u00a0When you get to the user dashboard, you will see that there is the option select NEW BLOG<\/strong>. \u00a0You can also click on the website that you want to edit. \u00a0In the menu that appears on left, click on BLOGS<\/strong> and then select NEW to create a new blog.<\/li>\n

    When you create a new blog, you will first get a screen (labeled \u201cCreate Blog\u201d) with six main options. \u00a0The following table lists these options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
    Blog Theme<\/th>\nBy default, there are 3 themes that you can select<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Blog Name<\/th>\nName of your blog \u2013 this can be changed any time<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Blog URL<\/th>\nURL used to get to the blog \u2013 based on the main published website URL<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Blog Root<\/th>\nLocation of the files for the blog<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Time Zone<\/th>\nTime zone for the blog<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
    Language<\/th>\nLanguage used for the blog \u2013 defaults to English<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

    Make sure to go through each of these settings . <\/p>\n

  4. Once all of the settings have been determined for your new blog, click on CREATE BLOG<\/strong> at the bottom of the screen.<\/li>\n

    When the blog is created, it will automatically jump to the SETTINGS<\/strong> section and show you the GENERAL\u00a0<\/strong>settings. <\/p>\n

  6. After you have completed making sure that the GENERAL settings are correct for you, click on SAVE CHANGES<\/strong> at the bottom of the screen (you\u2019ll have to scroll down to see the save button).<\/li>\n
  7. This completes the setup of the Blog, but at this point there is no content in your blog. \u00a0Creat entries by going to the top left of the screen selecting the first option labeled ENTRIES<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
